Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

RetroGenY ("the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.

The app itself collects no personal information

  • Your games, saves, save states, screenshots and covers stay on your phone, in the folder you chose or in the app's private storage. They are never uploaded.
  • There are no accounts. The app never asks for your name, email or phone number.
  • The app has no servers of its own and collects no usage statistics.

Link play

When you link, your phone talks directly to the other phones over the same local network, Bluetooth or a cable, never through our servers. What's exchanged is the data the games need to link, plus your device name so the other players can recognize you. For Bluetooth play the system asks for the "Nearby devices" permission, used only to find and connect to the other phone.

Logs made with "Export link log" stay on your phone. We only see one if you choose to send it to us.

Advertising

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location, device information and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. Where consent is required (for example in the EEA and the UK), the app asks for your choice through Google's consent tool before showing ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads.

See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
